Max fordham takes home the Ashden Gold

12 June 2015

The judges were looking for evidence of leaders in sustainable energy to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon world.  And Max Fordham are delighted to be named the 2015 winners of the UK Award for Sustainable Buildings and also the UK Gold Award.

Now in their 15th year, The Ashden Awards reward high calibre, pioneering enterprises in the UK and developing world that share a vision of sustainable energy for all. Max Fordham was recognised for ‘the beautiful, energy-efficient buildings it helps create and for driving up energy efficiency standards across the sector.’  Both awards were collected by Senior Partner Guy Nevill, with a touching tribute made to Max upon receiving the UK Gold Award.  ‘It is only through Max’s ethos and guidance that we are here today. His ideas have enabled us to achieve so much.’

The ceremony, hosted by broadcaster and cultural commentator Emma Freud, recognised and celebrated many inspirational companies from across four different continents. The UK Sustainable Buildings Award was funded by the Garfield Weston Foundation, a family-founded, grant-making trust which has been supporting charities across the UK for over 50 years.

As Guy concludes “Ashden go to great lengths to assess their winners and so it is particularly gratifying to be recognised in this way. They provide ongoing support and we are really looking forward to working with them over the coming years.”
