Anna Neale
MSci MA (cantab) PhD

Engineer

Anna joined Max Fordham LLP following a PhD at the University of Cambridge Department of Materials Science studying new materials for harnessing solar energy to make hydrogen.

Since joining Anna has worked on a variety of different projects from early stage concept design to the construction stages. She has experience working across a range of building sectors including schools, offices, performance spaces, visitors centres, historic buildings and private housing.

Anna has particular interest in building physics and the use of software to model the influence of sunlight, materials, air and people on the thermal behaviour of buildings and the energy needed to keep them running right. For the CCDC she used these techniques to design a retrofit ventilation system for the landmark office building, and then took the role of project engineer to see the project through to completion on-site.

She is currently working as project engineer for a large private residence inspired by PassivHaus design principles, and developing the design of a school theatre to make best use of natural ventilation.

Anna is a graduate member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
