Sustainability is my prime motivator. My approach is to apply strong academic thinking to the requirements of the project, which means that I know how and when to successfully innovate.

I’ve worked on a variety of cultural buildings, both new build and historic listed, including galleries, theatres, archives and visitors centres. No matter whether the project is on or off-grid, or what the specific environmental requirements are, my method is the same. I look across disciplines for the right solution and think about the implications of my ideas for the project as a whole.

The award-winning Brockholes Visitor Centre in rural Lancashire is one of the most unique projects I've worked on. A floating 'village’, it required bespoke solutions to unusual and challenging design problems in almost every area of services.

I'm experienced in designing mechanical and public health systems, as well as in building physics and can model how a building is likely to feel and how much energy it'll probably use when it's occupied.
