'It still astounds me that even though we know how to design buildings that require almost no heating energy, we don’t build them frequently enough.

This needlessly commits clients and building users, for generations to come, to increased energy demand, rising fuel bills and unnecessary pollution.

I design low-energy buildings where the building services are unobtrusive and intuitive to use. I love to understand the context in which a building sits and then think of the simplest environmental strategy, and associated design details, to support the architecture. The result allows occupants, now and in the future, to benefit from intrinsically low energy design.

I’ve been lucky enough to work on a number of different projects, at various scales, from large secondary schools and office developments, to a Mayfair wine shop.

I’m fascinated by how we can interact with our built environment, leveraging in-use data and user feedback to design better buildings. And I will vigorously defend our carefully considered designs on behalf of our clients!'
