New South Glasgow Hospital and Children’s Hospital
We advised on the masterplan for a new 2,000 bed hospital on the existing Glasgow Southern General Hospital site, incorporating an enlarged hospital for adults and the re-located Royal Hospital for Sick Children.
Our focus was on developing clear site infrastructure and plan proposals for phasing and decanting to form part of the PFI ITN. Exploring its integration into the wider infrastructure of the Clyde ribbon development, with potential connection to the airport and Braehead retail and leisure facilities was part of the brief.
We also worked with the project team to develop benchmarking for design quality, environmental and energy performance in use.
Façade proposals for a ward accommodation provided opportunity for natural ventilation with comfort cooling and more critical fully controlled environments.
New South Glasgow Hospital and Children's Hospital is one project in our continuing story of nearly 50 years of delivering healthcare buildings.
