We are proud to have signed up as a 'Scotland for Employee Ownership' advocate – a banner under which we can actively promote and raise awareness of employee ownership. This initiative is a natural fit for our organisation, which was the first in the British construction industry to become a Limited Liability Partnership in 2001.
Established in 1966 and employee owned from 21st October 1974, we have a long history of employee ownership. Currently, we have over 115 partners in our five UK offices in Edinburgh, London, Cambridge, Manchester and Bristol.
Our unique form of ownership is free to join and open to all employees. We are all too aware of the many advantages this brings including a greater say for everyone in how the business is run, a feeling of ownership and of greater individual responsibility. As our founder Max himself once said: “It's a responsibility-sharing scheme, not a profit-sharing scheme”.
The benefits of employee ownership also extend to our clients and collaborators who will know they will be working with teams of motivated people who are reliable, fully-engaged and who will strive to create the most sustainable engineering solutions they can.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic it is now more important than ever to create businesses which are resilient, innovative and engage everyone in key decisions. We are looking forward to playing our part in enabling other organisations to benefit from our own very positive experience of employee ownership.
