Black History Month - time to 'video-cate' ourselves!

Happy Friday Everyone - as promised, we're sharing our second recommendation to educate ourselves on Black British History today.

Last Friday, we started off our little series with "Americanah" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a novel recommended by Patience Straker, Head of Billings at Max Fordham.

Today we're continuing with...

Racism and Engineering: The stories behind the statistics, a video by Engineers Without Borders UK, recommended by Ifeolu Adeyemi, Project Coordinator at Max Fordham.

Here's what he says...

I found this to be an interesting panel discussion about diversity and representation within the engineering industry.

It provides an insight into a variety of experiences of getting into and working within the industry for BAME individuals. It also looked at the current state of information regarding representation and the motivations of BAME individuals within engineering.

The video highlights how diversity in the workforce is known to aid innovation, quality of service and potential opportunities for many companies.

We hope you'll find this video as eye-opening as we do - keep your eyed peeled for next Friday too, when we'll be sharing our next recommendation.
