Planning permission granted for Grahame Park masterplan

12 May 2020

The transformation of Barnet’s largest housing estate took a major step forward last week after the GLA approved the Council's decision to give the ambitious new masterplan the green light.

The Grahame Park masterplan, developed by Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) in partnership with Barnet Council, will see 2,088 new homes developed, of which more than 1,000 will be affordable housing.

"I'm delighted to see that the masterplan has been granted planning approval by the GLA. This is a project I have been closely involved in since 2015 and I'm very much looking forward to the first plot starting on-site soon. The scheme will deliver over 2,000 high-quality, energy-saving new dwellings." - James Byass, Principal Engineer and Partner

Providing M&E, Acoustics and Sustainability Consultancy, Max Fordham is contributing to converting Grahame Park into a superior neighbourhood with the community at its heart, featuring a mix of uses, active street frontages and good access to communal facilities.

“I am absolutely delighted with the GLA’s decision to approve the masterplan for Grahame Park." - Dan Thomas, Leader of Barnet Council

“The GLA’s decision is very welcome and will bring a huge benefit to the area, both in terms of new homes and fantastic new facilities. It is important to us that we go beyond bricks and mortar and help establish a high-quality neighbourhood with the community at its heart.” - Kate Davies, Chief Executive of NHG
