PLENTY OF ROOM AT THE INN

29 March 2012

The New Inn Visitor Centre for the renowned landscape gardens at Stowe had its grand opening last week.

Acquired by the National Trust in the 1980s, the New Inn was built in the 17th Century to provide accommodation for visitors to the Gardens. Following a programme of restoration to the Gardens, New Inn has undergone a dramatic restoration and reconstruction led by Cowper Griffith Associates.

The design has transformed the existing buildings and seen a contemporary reinterpretation of the dilapidated barn to provide an inspiring and educational introduction to the magnificence of the Gardens.

Max Fordham provided mechanical and electrical engineering in addition to acoustics.
