'Presences' (in collaboration with Níall McLaughlin Architects) on display at the RIBA Headquarters

9 January 2019

In 2018, we collaborated with Níall McLaughlin Architects and Price & Myers on an installation, called Presences, for the Venice Biennale (Biennale Architettura 2018).

The interactive installation consisted of six large-scale models, each representing a hall that Níall McLaughlin Architects had designed. The models were placed on a hand-turned table that represented a calendar.

Níall McLaughlin Architects explained that "the intention of presenting these models in this way [was] to emphasise the relationship between the enduring frames of the buildings and the endless procession of fugitive elements that pass through them periodically."

We designed the lighting for the installation and provided advice on the astronomical considerations.

The interactive installation has now been transferred to the RIBA Headquarters in Portland Place and will be on display from 10th - 28th January 2019.

More information about the display can be found here.
