Tiger Way wins at BREEAM Awards!
7 March 2018
Last night, Tiger Way Primary School and Nursery won the award for Public Project (Design Stage) at the BREEAM Awards 2018.
Max Fordham are appointed to provide M&E, Sustainability Consultancy, Soft Landings and BREEAM for the project, and are working alongside Hawkins\Brown, Babcock International, McLaren Construction and the London Borough of Hackney.
Innovatively addressing an urgent need in Hackney for both new school places and homes, the project will replace an existing school with a double capacity new school, organised around external play spaces, plus 89 new residential units. The project is on target to achieve BREEAM Outstanding following its Design Stage 'Outstanding' rating with a score of 86.3%.
The BREEAM public awards are for projects supporting community and societal services, such as government, health, education and justice, including closely related commercially driven projects.
For the Tiger Way project, the judges were particularly impressed by the integrated approach to sustainable design and development, the application of multiple uses to ensure exemplary outcomes for the school, and the depth of consideration throughout the design.
Another of our projects, LSE Centre Buildings Redevelopment, was also shortlisted in this award category.
