Turning the Mulberry flagship store green

The recently opened Mulberry flagship store is expected to receive a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ – a very unusual achievement for a retail space – thanks to Max Fordham’s role as consulting engineers.

Max Fordham completed the project’s mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as providing sustainability consultancy addressing the environmental concerns of the whole design team by integrating energy efficient concepts into the store.

A key feature of this energy conservation work is the dry stone feature wall – used as the lungs of the store – which retains heat in the winter and cools the air in the summer.
