Based in our London office, this role provides a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is keen to progress a career in HR, in a unique environment. Our Practice is not about following and implementing process-driven activities, but about building relationships, and engaging with the people in our Practice in order to help all those who work here to achieve their highest potential.

This important role will provide excellent generalist HR administration support, working within our small but knowledgeable and supportive team to deliver a wide range of HR activities, including recruitment and selection, inductions, benefits administration, performance reviews and appraisals, learning and development, and more. This is a role that will provide the right person with opportunities to grow and develop new skills.

Key aspects of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with all aspects of the in-house recruitment process using our Applicant Tracking System, from search and selection through to arranging candidate interviews, administration for appointments, arranging inductions and facilitating a smooth onboarding process
  • Working with the current HR Administrator to update and digitise records, and to maintain the HR database, diligently maintaining HR records and data in accordance with GDPR
  • Regularly reviewing the internal HR Wiki Pages, and liaising with the page owners to  update them as required
  • Helping to maintain the Job Application email account, responding to applicants, following up and maintaining contact with applicants and selected recruiters under the direction of the HR Advisor.
  • Coordinating responses for reference requests as required
  • Involvement with activities which promote of the Max Fordham employer brand, through social media and in selected recruitment media
  • Working with the current HR Administrator to assist in the coordination and administration of the annual personal development and performance review processes
  • Taking notes in HR-focused meetings if required, following up on outstanding actions, and producing and publishing minutes to the internal wiki as necessary
  • Assisting our HR Administrator in the coordination of internal engineering lectures and seminars as required
  • Supporting the HR Team in the administration of learning and development activities for all our people
  • Assisting with the organisation of internal events if required


The ideal candidate will have some experience in an HR environment in an assistant / administrative role, and may have completed, or be working towards their CIPD Level 3 Certificate in HR Practice. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.   

The role will suit a person who has natural empathy and a flexible approach. They will be keen to make a difference and have an ability to clearly articulate what is needed to get the job done, in such a way that supports our open and collaborative culture and working environment.

Attention to detail is essential for this role, as are excellent communication and organisational skills to help our HR team develop the service it provides our people and play a central supporting role for our growing Practice.

£23,000 - £26,000 depending on experience
