MEP REVIT TECHNICIAN (SPECIALISING IN 3D MODELLING OF BUILDING SERVICE SYSTEMS) – MANCHESTER OFFICE
This position is available for an immediate start
Do you have what it takes to create 3D models of Beautiful Engineering on award winning Projects? Do you want to work for a friendly, flexible and engaged employer? If so, this job is for you!
An opportunity is available in our Manchester office for an MEP Revit Technician to join our expanding Digital Design Team.
3D modelling and drawing will be the main focus for this design role, using modern methods, rather than traditional drafting. This is a specialist role in the 3D modelling of building services using Autodesk Revit, and includes the following main aspects:
- Delivering engineering projects in Revit
- Supporting and training the Manchester engineers in Revit modelling on architectural projects
- Developing practice-wide standards and workflows with the rest of the Digital Design Team
You will get a chance to work on a wide range of projects run from our offices in London, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester and Bristol in and across different sectors, both at home and internationally. You will support our engineers in delivering their projects, who have a strong sense of ownership and commitment to their work.
Whilst specialising in digital modelling of building services systems, there will be an opportunity to undertake or further develop your engineering training and knowledge. Training on live projects, you will help deliver the design information on a wide range of architectural projects. It is essential that you have a keen interest in architecture and design.
About the person
We value people with the ability to think analytically and creatively, adopting a first principles approach to create elegant and innovative solutions to practical engineering problems. We recruit and train people who can rise to this challenge.
This role requires a motivated team player who is keen and willing to learn. As such, essential personal attributes for this role include a strong sense of ownership for the work that you do. You must care about the presentation and detail of the design and have a strong desire to achieve technicalexcellence and completeness.
Good communication skills are vital in this role, as is an ability to build strong relationships with the engineers in the Manchester team, and the members of the Practice Digital Design Team. This will be essential for building and retaining your technical expertise, whilst developing your design capability.
Applicants must have a reasonable depth of knowledge of working in Revit and ideally would have at least a basic knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM), however this is not necessary. Applicants do not need to have a University degree although a HNC or HND in a related field would be advantageous.
The applicant should be fully IT literate.
Since 1966, Max Fordham LLP has worked with the world’s leading architects to create beautifully engineered buildings. We make buildings work.
