About Max Fordham LLP

As building services engineers, we combine creativity and engineering to design innovative, elegant and sustainable buildings in the UK and overseas. For over 50 years we've brought this approach to projects of all sizes across all building sectors. Our portfolio includes award winning buildings and internationally renowned landmarks, and we have had one of our projects feature on the shortlist for the coveted RIBA Stirling Prize in each of the last three years.

We have also been recognised as a good employer, with regular entries in the Building Magazine Good Employer Guide (we were one of the top five Best Engineering Employers in 2017); we were named the Association of Consultancy and Engineering's Diversity and Inclusion Champion in 2017; and we have won the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers medium-sized Employer of the Year Award three times in the last five years. We are also a Living Wage Employer.

We offer a different sort of working environment. What makes us different is that our innovative approach to building design also extends to the way in which we run our business. The Practice is owned by the people who work for us, and our unique approach to ownership and governance puts trust and transparency at the heart of how we operate.

About Our Sustainability team

Our sustainability team is a close knit team spread across four offices. We lead on sustainability strategies and assessment, building performance, embodied carbon analysis and wellbeing services within the practice. Our Sustainability consultants help our clients develop and then champion a sustainability brief within the whole project team. The sustainability team is embedded in an engineering group to encourage idea sharing and information dissemination and we also act as a hub for sustainability knowledge working with all engineers across the practice.  The work our building performance consultants have done has been rewarded by achieving BSRIA Soft Landings Practitioner of the Year.

Our sustainability consultancy provides some of the most progressive and influential work that our Practice undertakes, offering exciting opportunities to identify the fundamental issues that are most relevant to each project and client. Using a variety of techniques we focus a broad agenda down to a manageable set, from meetings to structured workshops involving a wider group of stakeholders.  We champion and monitor the sustainability agenda as the project progresses.

We work on a wide range of high profile projects and building types from single houses to masterplans working with engineers across the practice. This is an exciting time to join us as the industry is demonstrating a renewed interest in sustainability and as we add to our increasing portfolio of zero carbon consultancy for both projects and organisations.
