Working with Pollard Thomas Edwards and East Thames Group (now L&Q), we helped develop a masterplan for a six-hectare site known as Chobham Farm, which lies immediately to the east of the Olympic Park in Stratford.

The masterplan consisted of 1,000 new homes within a new neighbourhood adjoining Stratford City and including part of the Olympic Legacy Land.

We provided M&E and Sustainability consultancy during the pre-planning phase and input to the hybrid planning application that included an outline submission for the site as a whole and a detailed application for the first phase of the development. The masterplan included an exemplar sustainability strategy for the site to meet the exacting standards of the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and future London Plan requirements.

Following this, we remained client side for the delivery of phase 1, which comprised 173 new mixed-tenure homes alongside shops, cafes, a small supermarket and commercial spaces. We were heavily involved in the commissioning and handover process to ensure the contractor delivered the high-performing system that had been included in our Employer’s Requirements.

Phase 1 was completed in 2017.
