Wellcome Trust

The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation dedicated to improving health through science, social sciences, humanities and public engagement.

Known as the destination for the incurably curious, the London headquarters of the Trust also houses the Wellcome Collection - objects and artefacts relating to medicine and art. Increasing visitor traffic to the Collection resulted in the need for remodelling of the galleries and library.

The original entrance has been expanded to make the full extent of the Collection more apparent, with extra gallery spaces, a youth events space, kitchen and a restaurant added, and the library reorganised.

Our work consisted of mechanical and electrical engineering and specialist lighting consultancy. Particularly challenging was the need keep the existing building, which contains valuable archival material, in use during construction.
