More Than a Building: We're supporting Article 25's programme in developing countries
16 November 2023
We are proud to have joined 'More Than a Building' by Article 25 – a programme that helps to build schools and homes in developing countries, improving access to healthcare, education, and shelter.
Article 25 is the UK’s leading architectural NGO. We’ve worked alongside the charity for more than 10 years on projects including College Amadou Hampate Ba, in Niger, a passively designed primary and secondary school built using locally available materials, and Boisrond Tonnerre School in Haiti, a primary school for children from low-income backgrounds.
The More Than a Building initiative, launched earlier this month, provides access to the charity's specialist CPD courses and opportunities for people from the construction industry to share ideas and explore opportunities.
Membership also enables Article 25 to increase its humanitarian work in some of the world’s poorest countries. Article 25 is not-for-profit, meaning all building projects delivered with their NGO partners are a combination of pro-bono (free) and low-bono (provided at cost).
For every £1 received per month, Article 25 secures roughly £4 worth of internal and external pro-bono architectural and engineering expertise, quadrupling the value of every contribution.
"Max Fordham has a long history of collaborating with Article 25 on high-impact projects for low-income countries, so we're delighted to continue supporting this work. We look forward to the training and networking events; it's an excellent opportunity to help drive learning and collaboration across the industry." - Gwilym Still, Director, Max Fordham
