We now offer Passivhaus Certification!

We are pleased to announce that Max Fordham is now an accredited Passivhaus Certifier, one of eight organisations in the UK and Ireland.

Passivhaus certification is granted by the Passivhaus Institute. It is a crucial quality assurance process for building projects to achieve Passivhaus standard, and is offered by a small number of leading industry organisations.

Passivhaus Certifier status enables us to support clients, design teams, and contractors through design and delivery.

Max Fordham has worked as Passivhaus Designers on some of the largest and tallest Passivhaus projects in the UK, including social housing project Agar Grove Estate in London, and the UK's first ever net zero carbon home, Max Fordham House, so we’re excited to extend this to Certification.

Increasing certification capacity is crucial to the Passivhaus Trust's core aim to upscale Passivhaus knowledge and delivery in the UK.

We're happy to tailor our certification service to the project needs, from checking PHPP modelling and compliance with the criteria, to sharing our experience from a range of projects, both retrofit and new build, from large to small, and across a range of typologies.

If you're interested for your project, please get in touch with Gwilym Still at g.still@maxfordham.com.

"I think Passivhaus is crucial in delivering net zero carbon, and I realised we needed more Certifiers than the current group of great people in the UK. So when I got the chance to train as a Certifier I grabbed it with both hands. I look forward to helping deliver high comfort and quality, low operational energy buildings, and to learning in the process."
