David Lindsey

David has been with the practice since the 1980s, training under Max, and his approach embodies the practice values of accountability, commitment and brave engineering design. 

He takes great pride in delivering projects effectively, remaining involved every step of the way, with a focus on in-use performance to ensure stakeholders have the building they were hoping for. His open approach to communication throughout all stages of a project is what makes the difference, enabling the design team to arrive at engineering solutions that really fit the brief. 

David has supported Camden Council in modernising district heating for the listed Alexandra Road Estate, still served by the innovative heating system designed by Max, comprising pipes embedded in structural concrete walls. David’s first-hand knowledge of the original design brief, to make the heating as economical as possible, provides insights which help to marry efficient heating design with respect for the now listed structure, while ensuring the residents are comfortable in their homes. These design priorities have barely changed in the decades since it was built. 

David’s breadth of experience and strong leadership skills make him an invaluable asset within the practice he has helped to build.
