James Byass and Luke Hadley are the first engineers to achieve the CIBSE Higher-Risk Buildings Registration
The Higher-Risk Buildings (HRB) Register, developed by the Engineering Council, provides clients, residents, employers and regulators with confidence that engineers are competent to work on Higher-Risk Buildings.

The register assesses both competence and commitment, ensuring that UK engineers meet the rigorous standards required to design and manage complex, high-stakes projects. CIBSE is one of only five professional engineering institutions licensed to award HRB Registration, offering assessments against the generalist UK-SPEC HRB requirements as well as the Building Services and Façade annexes. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the practice and highlights the growing importance of HRB Registration in raising standards and safeguarding people in the built environment.
