I use my knowledge to make sure a building offers the right amount of light, air and heat to make it an enjoyable space for those who use it. While architects draw the lines, my job is to colour them in.
As an engineer, I have come to realise that there is no set approach, which is one of the main reasons I find it so enjoyable. No project is the same and I am constantly being challenged to find the most appropriate solution.
I have gained a diverse knowledge across a range of projects; these include both refurbishments and new builds across the residential, leisure, retail, and cultural sectors. This has helped me to understand how to create buildings that provide comfortable spaces, whether it is for people to live, work or play.
I take care to consider how building services integrate with and impact on the architecture, structure, cost and construction process.
My aim is to always make the complicated, uncomplicated. I want to create buildings that are simple to build, simple to service and most importantly, simple to use.
