Kathryn Donald

Kathryn is leading the practice’s transition into a fully digital design environment, and maintaining the high quality of our project delivery. She engages with experts in the wider construction and technology industries, exploring opportunities to develop innovative new ways of delivering our projects that achieve the best outcomes for our clients.

She joined the practice as an MEP engineer during her Masters in Building Design Engineering and was a project engineer on the earliest Max Fordham BIM projects. She became Digital Design and Building Performance Modelling Leader in 2019, and a Director in 2022. Her experience in low carbon building design and project delivery have given her a thorough understanding of the benefits of working within a BIM environment, and how to most effectively develop our digitalisation of project data and design team collaboration. 

Kathryn is Chartered with CIBSE and is a member of the CIBSE Society of Digital Engineering (SDE) Steering Committee, the CIBSE SDE Product Data & Room Data Templates Working Group, the Committee of Women in BIM Scotland, and is a judge for the CIBSE Building Performance Awards. She also tutors Architecture students at Edinburgh University in IES modelling.
