Challenge
Working with architects Barr Gazetas and interior designers Studio Stockholm from the early stages, we provided wellbeing and net zero carbon consultancy for this project. The end result is a beautifully designed, healthy and sustainable space.
Staff wellbeing was at the heart of this people-centred project. Working in close collaboration with the client, and the design and contractor team, we provided clear guidance and support throughout the technical design stage into construction.
The design offers flexible office space that fosters community, collaboration and impact, with sustainability as a key driver and an embodied carbon target of less than 262kgCO2/m2. There was a strong focus on material reuse, with cradle-to-cradle certified natural materials made of recycled components.

Achieving WELL Platinum certification
30 Broadwick Street is one of just 25 projects in the UK to be certified platinum under WELL certification – the premier building standard to focus on enhancing people’s health and well-being through the buildings where we live, work and play.
The prestigious certification is grounded in a body of evidence-based research that explores the connection between the buildings where we spend approximately 90% of our time, and the health and well-being impacts on the people inside these buildings. To be awarded WELL Certification by the International WELL Being Institute the project underwent rigorous testing and a final evaluation by an approved WELL Performance Testing Agent, to ensure it met all WELL Certified Platinum performance requirements.
We used our internal management tools to ensure attention was given at the right time to every detail and careful planning of preparation and submission of all evidence. After two rounds of documentation review and the performance verification in-use, the confirmed score was 91 out of a maximum 100 points – significantly over the 80 points threshold for Platinum.
