Following the success of Greenhaus development, Willohaus is built to the same rigorous standards. Passivhaus Classic certified residential buildings enjoy reduced heating energy heating use by around 90% compared to traditional housing stock, and 70% compared to typical new builds, helping residents to reduce their fuel bills and cut their carbon footprint.

Combining high environmental performance with affordable rents will help to support a thriving community. Willohaus' one and two bedroom apartments, including wheelchair accessible apartments on the ground floor, include a mix of social and affordable rental homes. 

Triple-glazing and excellent insulation means the apartments are quiet and warm, and MVHR removes stale air and supplies fresh, filtered air while recovering heat, creating a cleaner and healthier indoor environment. Direct electric space heating gives occupants comfort control within their living environment. 

The final airtightness result of 0.3 air changes per hour @50 Pa is twice as good as the maximum limit for Passivhaus, making Willohaus the most airtight multi-storey apartment block in the UK with over 100 units. This sets an excellent example for future projects, as it shows that lower heating bills and higher occupant comfort can be achieved via good architectural design and high quality construction, without adding significant project cost.
