Strategic sustainability

Max Fordham’s sustainability consultancy helps set our clients’ sustainability strategies at an organisational, estate-wide, or project-specific level. Through workshops, ongoing advice, and engaging stakeholder presentations, we work with clients, project teams, and stakeholders of all levels to explore, define, monitor, and achieve their sustainability goals.

About strategic sustainability

We offer sustainability audits, write sustainable design guides, and provide the robust advice, evidence, and reporting required to obtain Planning consent under the London Plan and other Local Authority requirements.

Our strategic sustainability services have developed hand-in-glove with our mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) engineering consultancy: our earliest projects in the 1960s and 1970s were pioneers of sustainability in building services design, and our agenda-setting Sustainability Matrix (developed in partnership with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios) was published in 2010 and has been used, free of charge, by organisations ever since.

Our decades of MEP engineering experience paired with our in-house expertise in Passivhaus design and building performance evaluation means that our strategic sustainability advice is holistic, realistic, practical, and outcome focused. Getting involved in a project at its earliest stages, and collaborating closely throughout its lifecycle with the client, design team, and contractor, our sustainability consultancy results in strategies that deliver real change and positive outcomes in practice.
